The Emissary is not an organization or any attempt
by man to build something for the purpose of man. Rather, it is an expression of a
heart burden to see the modern day Church revived in holiness, purity, and in power

Great is Thy Faithfulness by Kristian Walker
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love
of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and
the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from
the world. And the world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will
of God abides forever.
– 1 John 2:15-17
Romans 6 lays the foundation for the Christian's deliverance from sin. Such deliverance God provides for every believer; all may enter in.
Moreover, let us be unmistakably clear that this liberation from the power of sin may be experienced the very hour a sinner accepts the Lord
Jesus as Savior and is born anew. He need not be a long-time believer and undergo numerous defeats before he can receive this gospel. Delay
in accepting the gospel according to Romans 6 is due either to the incomplete gospel he has heard or to his unwillingness in wholly accepting
and fully yielding to it. Whereas actually this blessing should be the common possession of all the newly born.
In 1 Kings Chapter 17 the first thing I want you to notice about Elijah are his words to King Ahab:
“As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand”. These true prophets did not fear kings because of one reason:
They stood before the Lord. Kings were mere specks of dust before God. The great need is for young men who can be prophets like that.
Knowledge of the Bible is important. But more important than that is this: You must live before God’s face. To live before God’s
face, you must keep your conscience 100% clear - not 99%, but 100%. And you must humble yourself totally. Your face must be in
the dust all the time. That’s how Elijah lived.
Let us remember: when we talk of the rending of the veil we are speaking in a figure, and the thought of it is
poetical, almost pleasant; but in actuality there is nothing pleasant about it. In human experience that veil is
made of living spiritual tissue; it is composed of the sentient, quivering stuff of which our whole beings consist,
and to touch it is to touch us where we feel pain. To tear it away is to injure us, to hurt us and make us bleed. To
say otherwise is to make the cross no cross and death no death at all. It is never fun to die. To rip through the
dear and tender stuff of which life is made can never be anything but deeply painful. Yet that is what the cross did
to Jesus and it is what the cross would do to every man to set him free.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which ...hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection
of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible . . . reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God
through faith unto salvation." The words of my text are: "Kept by the power of God through faith."
There we have two wonderful, blessed truths about the way a believer is kept unto salvation. One truth is,
Kept by the power of God; and the other truth is, Kept through faith. We should look at the two sides-at God's side and
His almighty power, offered to us to be our Keeper every moment of the day; and at the human side, we have nothing to do
but in faith to let God do His keeping work. We are begotten again to an inheritance kept in heaven for us. We are kept
here on earth by the power of God.
Paris Reidhead preaches what could be called one of the most influential sermons of the 20th century.
The real point of this sermon is an indictment of individuals and organizations practising humanism behind a
mask of Christianity. For a transcript of this sermon, see here.
